What the seller pays
On Vinted, nothing: no fee to upload an item and none when it sells. On Depop, no selling fee either for a UK seller, but every sale pays payment processing of 2.9% + £0.30 on the price and postage. So Vinted always leaves you more of the sale, and the gap grows slowly with the price: £0.59 on £10, £1.75 on £50, £3.20 on £100.
What the buyer pays
Both add a fee to your buyer’s price. Vinted’s is usually 3% to 8% of the price plus £0.30 to £0.80; Vinted does not publish one exact rate. Depop’s Marketplace fee is up to 5% of the item price plus up to £1. On £10, Vinted’s buyer pays £0.60 to £1.60 and Depop’s up to £1.50. On £50, Vinted’s buyer pays £1.80 to £4.80 and Depop’s up to £3.50. On £100, Vinted’s buyer pays £3.30 to £8.80 and Depop’s up to £6.00. At the top of its range, Vinted’s fee is the dearer of the two for the buyer.
Postage on each
On Vinted the buyer pays the postage at checkout, so it never passes through your hands. On Depop you set the postage or use a Depop label, the buyer pays it with the item, and Depop’s processing fee is charged on it too. Put your own postage into the calculator above to see both sides with it.
Boosts and Bumps
Depop charges 12% on a sale that comes from a boosted listing: on the £20 item above, Depop’s fees would rise to £3.80. Vinted sells Bumps, which push a listing up for a while, at a price shown at checkout; it depends on the item and how long you choose, so we cannot put a figure on it.
