A processing fee against a selling fee
Depop charges US sellers no selling fee. What you pay is payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45 on everything the buyer pays, postage and sales tax included. Poshmark charges a selling fee and nothing else: 20% of the sale price from $15, or $2.95 below. On a bare $100 item that is $3.75 on Depop and $20.00 on Poshmark.
What the buyer pays on top
Depop adds a Marketplace fee to the buyer’s price: up to 5% of the item price, plus up to $1. On the $30 top that is up to $2.50. Poshmark dropped its buyer fee in October 2024, so a Poshmark buyer pays the price and the postage label and nothing more. Some of Depop’s saving for you is paid by your buyer, which can matter when they compare the two prices side by side.
Boosted listings change the sum
Depop charges 12% on a sale that comes from a boosted listing, on the price and postage (the price alone if you use a Depop label). A boosted sale of the same top costs $6.04 in all, more than Poshmark’s $6.00. Boost only the listings that would not sell without it.
Cheap items
Under $15, Poshmark’s flat $2.95 takes a big bite: 29.5% of a $10 sale. Depop’s processing on the same $10 is $0.78. For low-priced pieces the difference is larger, as a share of the price, than for dear ones.
