How do Mercari fees work?

Since 6 January 2025 a seller pays one fee: 10% of the item price plus the postage the buyer pays. A $40 item with $6 buyer-paid postage pays $4.60 and you receive $41.40. There is no payment processing fee on listings created or updated since then.

What does the buyer pay?

A Buyer Protection fee of 3.6% of the item price and postage, added at checkout. On the sale above it is $1.66. It is shown in the calculator as what your buyer pays, not as a cost to you.

Does it cost anything to get paid?

A direct deposit to your bank is free. Instant Pay, which pays out straight away, costs $3 each time. Tick it in the calculator to include it.
