Business account: each payment from a customer’s Cash App
A Cash App Business account is free to open. Cash App takes a processing fee from each payment as it arrives: 2.6% + $0.15 when the customer pays from their own Cash App. On a $100 payment that is $2.75, so $97.25 lands in your balance. Cash App says the fee is already taken off by the time you see the money, and each payment’s fee shows in the Activity tab.
What is the Tap to Pay fee?
Tap to Pay lets a business account take a card payment in person on your phone. Cash App charges 3% of each one, with no fixed part. A $40 card payment costs $1.20. For comparison, Square’s free plan charges 2.6% + $0.15 for an in-person card payment; see our Square fee calculator.
Can I sell from a personal Cash App account?
Cash App’s terms describe a feature called Earn in P2P: a sole proprietor working in a personal capacity can take payments for goods and services in a personal account, once the feature is switched on. A business run through a registered company must use a business account instead. The terms say Cash App does not currently charge a fee to receive these payments, and that it may add one with notice. Pick it in the calculator to see a sale with no fee.
How much does a Cash App Instant transfer cost?
The standard transfer to your bank is free and usually takes one to three business days. An Instant transfer to a debit card costs 0.5% to 2.5% of the amount, with a least fee of $0.25 to $1 and a most of $75. Cash App shows the exact fee before you confirm, so we show the range rather than one number: about $0.50 to $2.50 to move $100, and $5.00 to $25.00 to move $1,000. It is listed under the result, not added to your fees.
